Today is the 70th anniversary of Emmett Till’s lynching. August 28 1955. Last week, more than 6,500 pages of federal records were released to the public, many of them never seen before.
CRRJ’s Director, Professor Margaret Burnham is a member of The Civil Rights Cold Case Records Review Board, responsible for their release.
“The story of Emmett Till and the injustices done to him is still being written, but these documents offer up some long-overdue clarity,” said Burnham.
