We mourn with Buffalo communities and share their grief. We stand in support and solidarity. We struggle against the racial violence that touches every facet of our country’s experience.
On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Northeastern Law’s Center for Law, Equity and Race (CLEAR) invited artists from Buffalo and Northeastern to perform at the event “Buffalo: In Tribute and Solidarity.”
The Reverend Willie Bodrick II ’20, senior pastor of the Historic Twelfth Baptist Church, hosted the performance featuring three artists: Drea D’Nur, Buffalo-based musician, Jillian Hanesworth, Buffalo’s current poet laureate, and Pierre-Valery Tchetgen, musician and future faculty fellow in the Music Department at Northeastern.
CLEAR offers an interdisciplinary convening space for faculty, staff and students across the university and surrounding community whose work addresses racial inequities and racism and who want to have an impact on these critical issues. Our events give educators, artists and activists the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the broader Northeastern community.
