On August 23, 1936, 21-year-old Woodrow Allen Bush was killed by Ozie Hicks in Anniston, Alabama. Hicks was acquitted at trial by an all-white jury. A descendant of the Hicks family reached out to a member of the Bush family to apologize for the harm that her family caused them.
