William Lockwood

On May 2, 1946, William Lockwood, 59 years old, was shot and killed by Sheriff Willie Kirby in Tuskegee, Alabama. On June 24, 1947, Assistant Attorney General, Theron L. Caudle, of the Department of Justice informed Thurgood Marshall that it would not prosecute Kirby.
