CRRJ is excited to announce Hulu’s release of the documentary, “The Lynching of Henry ‘Peg’ Gilbert,” a production of the Civil Rights & Restorative Justice Project, ABC 7 Chicago, and the Northeastern University School of Journalism.
The film tells the story of Henry Gilbert, who was murdered in police custody in 1947. In 2016, two CRRJ law students, Tara Dunn (NUSL ‘17) and Ariel Kong (NUSL ‘17), unearthed Gilbert’s story. Their investigation led to an official apology from public officials in Harris County, Georgia.
