Alabama’s Jim Crow era murders under new spotlight

A number of grisly racially-motivated killings that occurred in Alabama during the Jim Crow era are getting a fresh look. CRRJ is examining the cases as part of a nationwide investigation into the murders that occurred in the South from 1930 to 1970. The group is looking into more than 18 racially-based murders that occurred in Alabama. Details about the bombings, beatings, shootings and other fatal acts are available for public inspection on the group’s website.
