In the early morning of May 19, 1960, a bomb exploded underneath the home of Jethro and Mattie Green in Ringgold, Georgia. Mattie Green, a 32-year-old mother of six, died in the bombing.
In 2011, CRRJ clinic students Rashida Richardson and Heather Catherwood investigated the case. The Oxford Magazine article, “A Long Georgia Night: The life and legacy of Mattie Green,” published on June 1, 2022, references the research produced by CRRJ.
